When the CEO
of one of the country's largest Health Maintenance Organizations was told
that spending on IT was forecast to rise by half a million dollars, he asked
the CFO to provide evidence that the organization was deriving value from
its technological expenditures. |

Approach |

| |
We conducted an
assessment of IT resource utilization, but also suggested installation of an
IT Performance Measurement program for on-going tracking. The program
was installed and monthly performance review meetings were implemented.
Once stabilized, summary reports were shared with the CEO and staff. |

Results |

| |
Management was so
impressed with the results that the CEO directed that similar programs be
implemented for Claims Processing and Human Resources, the latter serving to
establish the basis for implementing performance-based compensation. |
